What I Did on My Summer Vacation

The Farm

Family Diners

The Fair

And quilt shows.

I lucked into two quilt shows this vacation.

The first is at the Dairy Barn Art Center, Athens, Ohio.  The Dairy Barn is exhibiting a collection of Amish quilts.  Admission was $6.00 per person and the show runs through September 6, 2010. Photography is not allowed at this exhibition.  Sorry no pics!

The second show was at Bob Evans Farm in Rio Grande, Ohio.   I’ve been wanting to visit the Bob Evans farm for awhile and since we were vacationing nearby we thought we would drop down and take a look.  It wasn’t one of their festival days so it wasn’t busy and to my delight they were hosting a quilt show in the upstairs of the Evans homestead.

The show goes through December 23, 2010.  Additionally, there is a day dubbed “Meet the Quilters” September 11, 2010 from 1-3 p.m. taking place at the homestead.  All of the quilts are award winners.  This is not a huge show but every quilt is of outstanding quality and design.
